About Our University
Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University is a foundation university established by the ”Homeland Health and Education Foundation" (VASEV) on February 19, 2009 in Istanbul with the law No. 5839.
It was first established in 2009 with 10 faculties, 2 vocational schools and 3 institutes; in the 2010-2011 academic year, it took its first students and started education with 860 students in 7 faculties, 2 vocational schools.
The Purpose, Mission and Vision of the Organization
Istanbul New Century University aims to be a higher educational institution and a center of excellence committed to the principles and reforms of Atatürk, aiming to bring scientists needed by society to the country; to educate knowledgeable, modern, equipped, experienced, useful to society, researcher young people.
Our University considers itself responsible for educating a workforce educated at associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels to contribute to research and studies that will exceed the level of modern civilization in our country academically and technologically, taking into account the developments in the world. For this purpose, Istanbul New Century University provides universal education in different disciplines in cooperation with stakeholders such as government institutions, private sector and non-governmental institutions and organizations with its expert and experienced academic staff.
Our vision is to educate graduates who are sought after at a global level, to reach the position of a university that can direct academic studies in its field with its publications, and to become a center of excellence and research and development institution where cooperation is sought in all kinds of scientific activities.
Qualified Training Staff
Our university has a strong domestic and foreign education staff that has made a name for itself in its field with its successful studies since its establishment. In the 2019-2020 academic year, a total of 678 academicians, including 109 professors, 41 associate professors, 222 medical faculty members, 214 lecturers and 92 research assistants, were provided education and training at our University from within and outside the institution.
The Opportunity to Study in Different Disciplines
There are 10 Faculties, 2 Vocational Schools, 3 Institutes, one in the field of health, 27 undergraduate programs, 6 secondary education, 25 associate degree and 32 graduate programs in different disciplines are offered at our university.
‘English Language and Literature’ and ‘English Translation and Interpreting’ departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and “Nutrition and Dietetics Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences are taught in English, while the language of instruction of our other programs is Turkish. Our students are also offered the opportunity to study in the English Preparatory Program upon request.
The Opportunity to Do a Double Major and Minor
Students can have the opportunity to get a double diploma by participating in Double Major (DIAMETER) programs at a faculty and department other than the department or faculty where they are studying by fulfilling the necessary conditions. since the 2017-2018 academic year, the same opportunity has been applied for our Vocational School and Health Services Vocational School students.
Our students can also get a certificate of expertise in a second field by participating in the “Minor” Program, which provides expertise in another department or program, if they want, and by fulfilling the necessary conditions.
The Opportunity to Study Abroad
Our university received the Erasmus Charter in the first year of its establishment. Therefore, our students have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters in 46 countries of Europe within the framework of the Erasmus Program during their undergraduate education. In the same way, our academicians and administrative staff can make use of this program to represent our University and our country abroad at the international level, give lectures and exchange mutual information. These countries and universities, which are increasing in number, can be seen in detail on the ERASMUS pages of our website.
Our university has also signed a “Good Faith Agreement” (Momerandum of Understanding) with universities from 3 countries.
Student Clubs
There are student clubs at our university, which have been diversifying and increasing in number depending on the interests of students since the first year. as of the 2018-2019 academic year, 49 student clubs are operating in different fields.

February 1 Jul 2009 Yeni Yüzyıl University Library was established by the “Vatan Health and Education Foundation” (VASEV) with the establishment of the university; to support the research and development activities of the university, to provide the necessary research materials and to make them available to the service of users. The library of Yeni Yüzyıl University was established by VASEV on February 19, 2009. Our collection is classified according to the Library of Congress Classification System. The PROCEDURE (Library Information Document Automation Program) is used to scan our resources and is offered to users with an open shelf system.

In accordance with the principles brought by modern librarianship, supporting the university's educational activities with the latest opportunities brought by technology, ensuring that users benefit from the library in the fastest and most convenient way on the way to becoming learning and researching individuals, to be one of the libraries whose reputation has been proven in our country and in the world.
Our Vision
Yeni Yüzyıl University Library is to provide information resources that support the university's curriculum, to become a continuously developing information center with an information literacy perspective by ensuring the development of students' knowledge accumulation and analysis skills through cooperation with academics.
Our Campuses
The main campus of our university is located in Topkapi on the European Side of Istanbul, ‘Dr. It is the Azmi Ofluoğlu Campus. An important part of the education and training is carried out here, and the administrative offices are also located in this campus. Topkapi Dr. Azmi Ofluoğlu Campus consists of two separate buildings, the main building and the Octagon building. The main building has 7 floors and an area of 37 thousand 457 m2, and the Octagon building has 10 floors and an area of 20 thousand m2. There are administration offices, teaching staff rooms, classrooms, health, science and computer laboratories, workshops, TV, radio and photo studios, library, conference hall, dance hall, dining hall, cafes, which are built according to the needs of education and are increasing in number in both buildings.
There are “Life Sciences and Technologies Laboratory” and "Forensic Sciences Laboratory” where projects belonging to science branches such as Medicine, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, Forensic Genetics are studied in connection with “Life Sciences” in Cevizlibağ Campus.
The Faculty of Dentistry of our University, on the other hand, provides education and training and dental health services in Sütlüce - Halıcıoğlu on the European Side of Istanbul as the “Faculty of Dentistry and Hospital”. This campus has academic and administrative units, classrooms, 8 clinics with 60 dental units, laboratories, central sterilization unit, operating room, emergency department and local intervention areas for minor surgical procedures in an 8-storey building, academic and administrative units, classrooms, library, cafeteria and dining hall, provides education and training to students of the Faculty of Dentistry, provides practice opportunities, provides public dental health services.
Gaziosmanpasa Gaziosmanpasa Hospital of Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University, where our other campus includes the Faculty of Medicine, is located in the Gaziosmanpasa district of Istanbul, located on the European side. Istanbul New Century University Faculty of Medicine Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, especially the 3rd of medical education and training. the education and training of the 4th and 5th grades and the intern applications are carried out.
Gaziosmanpasa Hospital serves the practical education of our students with 117 outpatient clinics, 12 operating rooms, 254 patient rooms and 336 total beds on an area of 59.827 m2. In addition, it has a library installed on an area of 180 m2, where there are books and online services used by our students and academics.
The hospital was accredited by the ”Joint Commission International" in 2017.
Our newest campus is the ‘Şirinevler Campus' located in Şirinevler, Istanbul. In this campus, the educational programs of Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University Continuing Education Research and Application Center (YENISEM) are carried out.
