What are the YÖS Application Requirements?

YÖS (Foreign Student Exam) is applied with certain application requirements for foreign students who will apply to universities in Turkey. In general, the YÖS application criteria are as follows:

1. High School Senior Student or Graduation Status
   Candidates must be in their last year of high school or have a graduated status.
2. Foreign Students
   Foreign students can apply to study in Turkey, except for students studying at secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey. However, those who registered before the 2022-2023 academic year are included in this coverage. (Embassy schools, international private educational institutions registered in the MOBIS system and foreign nationals brought to our country through projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education are excluded.)
3. Those Who have Lost Their Turkish Citizenship
   Students who are Turkish citizens by birth and have lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission from the Ministry of Interior to renounce their Turkish citizenship and certifying that they have a blue card can also apply. Students in this situation must have registered before the 2022-2023 academic year, provided that they are studying at secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey.
4. Dual Citizenship Status
   Dual-national students who later became Turkish citizens while being a foreign citizen and documented this status can apply, provided that they study at secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey. they must have registered before the 2022-2023 academic and academic year.
5. Completion of Secondary Education in a Foreign Country
   Foreign students can apply if they have completed their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country, except for the TRNC. In addition, the fact that they have also received education in Turkish schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Turkey is sufficient for the application.
6. Students of TRNC Nationality
   Students of TRNC nationality, K.K.T.C.if they reside in and have completed their secondary education (high school) there, they can apply with their GCE AL exam results. In addition, students who have enrolled and studied at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010 and have GCE AL exam results can also apply Dec. Students who are TRNC citizens and have completed their high school education in a foreign country can apply with the TR-YÖS result.
