Özyeğin University

Hüsnü M. on the foundation studies of Özyeğin University. It was started by the Özyeğin Foundation in the fall of 2005. In addition to the research covering more than 500 people consisting of business world, faculty members, university and high school students, "Developing Sectors and Professions Research in Turkey and the World" was carried out in the foundation studies. Based on the results of these researches, the basic values and vision of the university were discussed with all stakeholders through the design studies carried out by Deca Management Consultancy. The vision of Özyeğin University was created together with more than 300 people in various workshops attended by managers, faculty members, university students and recent graduates from the business world.

It was officially established on May 18, 2007 with the aim of becoming a university that contributes to social development with its innovative structure intertwined with life, educational approach intertwined with sectors and programs created in accordance with this within the framework of the defined vision of the contemporary education system.

September 2008, the university welcomed its first students at Istanbul Altunizade Campus, and September 2011, the university started education at the Çekmeköy Campus.

Özyeğin University Library is a living and learning center with 2.825 m2 library spread over three floors equipped with advanced technology, high-level technology, a rich collection of books and films, a spacious and comfortable working environment. It is a model library with a modern design suitable for the needs of the new generation. It supports the education, training and research needs of the university with user-centered, high-quality, creative information resources and services. For this purpose, it creates collections with academic staff and students and diversifies its services.

with its 74.000 printed collection, more than 1.000.000 e-books, more than 207.000 e-journals, educational technologies are used at a high level in the library, which provides services to its users 24/7. With the opportunities brought by technology, the library focuses on the development of electronic collections and offers high-quality electronic information resources to students. It has a service profile that goes beyond the traditional understanding of a library, where not only information resources, but also information technology equipment are made available, and brainteasers are added to the collection. The library, which makes extensive use of mobile technologies in accessing information resources, supports the student's research and educational needs regardless of time and space.

With its qualified staff, it provides students with information literacy trainings, library usage and research techniques seminars that will support lifelong learning, while providing individual and subject-specific counseling to complete their course preparations. This service is provided to students by faculty librarians who specialize according to their educational programs.

In addition to the rich printed and electronic academic publications, DVDs, daily domestic and foreign newspapers, personal development resources and popular magazines are also among the resources that students can use at the Central Library. Dec. oZooGle+ and Journal Portal scanning engines on the library web homepage are used to easily scan electronic resources, quickly access journals, articles and other electronic resources from a single point. Educational technology tools (laptops, projector, cameras, document camera, etc.) can be borrowed from the library if necessary.

Designed as a real life and learning center that offers an efficient working environment, encourages group work, is warm, enjoyable, where movies can be watched, games can be played, there are many group study rooms equipped with LCD televisions and blackboards in the library space. The study area, which is open 24/7 during the hours when the library is closed, is open for students to use with the computer and copy/printer equipment inside.
